Read on to find out more about Rebecca Ching and the powerful work that she does…
Rebecca, tell us a little bit about your business
I run a brick and mortar integrative mental health practice in San Diego, CA where we treat the whole person and the whole spectrum of mental health issues. We also offer specialized care in treating trauma +anxiety, addictions + compulsive behaviors, shame + perfection struggles, and disordered eating.
I am also starting a new business where I help established leaders navigate the intersection of mindset + mental health through online experiences, consultations and in person workshops based on the research and methodologies of Brené Brown and Internal Family Systems.
Share your mission, vision and values with us…
Potentia is on a mission to help decrease the stigma of mental health struggles and improve the reputation of our field. We value respect for all who enter our doors, specialized care and continued training so we can offer our clients the most cutting edge work our field has to offer, and excellent customer service.
Rebecca Ching is on a mission to help established leaders show up the same way they do at home and at work by staying connected to their core values, decreasing the stigma around struggle and failure, and bring more courageous conversations to their circle of influence around mental health, authenticity, and courage.
At what point in your business did you decide to hire a Virtual Assistant?
When I FINALLY realized it was not a sign of weakness to make an investment in someone to help me with my business goals and dreams.
In what way do you think that having a Virtual Assistant has helped your business grow?
I can breathe now – so I have time to dream, create, strategize in addition to sleep better, find more joy, and excitement about my work. I feel so good about helping my team and those we serve, too. Hiring Debbie and her team was honoring my business core values. Every time I pay Debbie for her time, it brings me joy. I cannot say that about other expenses for my businesses!
What has been the best thing about working with Roche Online Business Services?
As noted above, I can focus on vision, creating, dreaming, and caring for my team while feeling more ease, confidence and clarity.
What would you recommend to other businesses who might be looking to hire a Virtual Assistant? What should they look for? How should they prepare?
Take your time in finding the right fit – which means having a clear job description of where you need support. Look for someone you enjoy talking with and believe in, too. I love learning about Debbie’s varied interests and how amazing her brain is.
Prepare to take the time to download your brain – systems, ideas, passwords, workflow. It may feel overwhelming but work this time into your schedule to onboard a VA – it is the best investment you can make with the right person.
What’s your main business goal for 2018?
Launching RebeccaChing.com and expanding my Potentia team while also getting my content strategy implemented for both.
Tell us a little bit about your “I Choose Respect Campaign”…
For the last 4 years, I have featured leaders from the San Diego area for this effort – sharing the hats they wear in their life along with how they choose respect in the face of struggle and shame. For our 5th anniversary, I am mixing things up and taking this regional movement to a larger community. I want to spread the message of choosing respect when struggles show up instead of shaming, blaming, numbing, avoiding, denying. My hope and prayer is that continuing to share more stories from wholehearted leaders, more people will be moved to take the brave step of getting the support they need so they can show up, create, connect, and contribute in ways that bring more light and courage on this planet. Mental health and mindset struggles are not meant to be battled alone. When more people share their own struggles in these areas, stigma decreases and people getting help increases.
Are you a wholehearted leader and would like to participate? Then you can do so by clicking here and completing the I Choose Respect form. Also check out Rebecca’s amazing “I Choose Respect” manifesto!
